95 Pathy a/c won't engage
I recently ran into a problem with my a/c on my V6 95 Pathy. I originally thought it just needed to be recharged, so I went out and bought a recharge kit. However when I opened the hood and looked at the compressor while it was supposed to be running, I saw that the clutch wouldn't even engage. There was also no increase in idle speed when I turned the a/c on.
I don't know if it is a low refrigerant issue because I can't get an accurate reading without the compressor running. Is my compressor shot? Is there something else I can check to determine what the problem is. Could it be a switch or sensor or something? If it is the compressor, how hard is it to change? I'm relatively proficient with a wrench but I've never done a/c work before. Do I really have to bring it in to a garage to have the system evacuated first before I remove the compressor? Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

Found the problem. There's a leak in the condenser and therefore no pressure in the system. Does anybody know if I can just solder the leak to repair it?
