Low speed surging linked to tranny leak?
I have recently gotten my car up and running after it sat for almost 2 years and am still working out the kinks. I thought I had everything squared away but apparently not.
My car, being a 91' 3.1l, has begun to "surge", if you will, when I come to a stop. Only when I apply the brakes and am almost to a complete stop does it do this. I did the routine fluid check last time I filled up and had air bubbles in my tranny fluid, almost to the point that it was frothy. That lead me to check the tranny cooling lines. They do have a small leak and are probably sucking in air. I am going to replace these soon. My question is are the 2 linked? could the "surging" be caused by the ill maintained and functioning transmission? If not, what could be some possibles causes and solutions to my surging problems? Thanks and as always any feedback is greatly appreciated. |

Re: Low speed surging linked to tranny leak?
This wednesday, Sept. 1st, I am replacing the tranny cooling lines, and dropping the tranny pan to replace the tranny filter on my 3.1. I am hoping to post some step by step pics of the job. If there is a specific place to do so please let me know.
Again any feedback is appreciated Thanks |
