RKE location

I have a 1996 Lumina APV and need to program two new remote entry units. I am trying to locate the RKE module, and instructions on how to proceed. any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

Dave

I have a 93 Transport( same) and have just replaced the RKE and two used entry units(FOBS) If the FOBS are new the batteries will be good. If not replace the batteries.
The Remote Keyless Entry module should be located on the passenger side, above the kick trim. You will have to take the trim off and also remove the glove compartment. You will now see the RKE to the right of the removed glove compartment.

Follow this link and use a flash light or trouble light to see the memory erase switch. Follow the directions. www.avigex.ca/xport/keyless.jpg

Sometimes the last link dosen't work:
1- vehicle ignition must be in the on postion.
2- Press and hold the memory erase (program) switch for 10 seconds. The receiver in the van will then acknowledge successfull erasure of old transmitter fobs by locking and unlocking the doors.

3- Train new fobs: Vehicle ignition must still be on.
4- momentarily press switch on the memory erase switch on the vehicle receiver. Press any button on the Fob. The vehicle reciever will acknowledge by locking and unlocking.
5- You now have ten more seconds to train the second FOB by pressing any button on the second FOB.
6- wait 10 seconds to test.

This is for a 93 Transport but may work for yours.
