How do I disable the autolock feature on my 2001 Windstar

I have a 2001 Ford Windstar that does not have a keyless entry keypad. I would like to disable the autolock feature so I don't wear out all of my lock actuators. Can anyone help me out with the proceedure to do this?

Hey great, Let me know what you find out. I suspect there is some sort of way to do this through the computer system. In the manual it says that you can do this using the keypad if your vehicle has the keyless entry system. Alas, mine does not. I have seen some other forums discuss this but none has given an answer that works. There is one out there that talks about turning the ignition on then pressing the unlock button 3 times and then turing the ignition off and pressing the unlock button 3 times etc, but this does not seem to work on my 2001 Windstar. I'll certainly be interested in what you find.,,, Tim

I am not going to say the color of the wire at this point but if you clip it it disables the auto lock but its not working right with the keyless entry key chain remote.. I also had a problem with the back locks but I think there is another solution once i find the little box that runs it all.. Also I found out if one door is open the auto lock wont engage when you put it in drive.. Thats the other thing I am working on.. Give me a few more days.. been working alot lately.. I found this all out when putting the actuator in.. but only spent an hour on it taking pics as well.. ..Gary
