Timing belt install 07 Sebring Limited
The cams move when I install the tensioner. I have re-clocked the cams X teeth clockwise and/or counter clockwise. I have spent 14 hours on this. I have searched youtube and no one has a problem like I have. They all just go together pretty as you please. Well that ain't happening.
I have Chrysler's book and the new Haynes book. Haynes has to taking the rocker arms loose to install the timing chain. I really need some help. |

Re: Timing belt install 07 Sebring Limited
The Haynes book for 07 Sebrings are confused and confusing. How do you install the T-belt?

Re: Timing belt install 07 Sebring Limited
You spend 3 to 4 weeks asking everyone you know including the local Chrysler dealer about the issue to find out the MITSUBISHI did not make the timing marks correctly. There are NO TSBs, no owner notification, no NOTHING. SCREW YOU CHRYSLER. I have spent the ENTIRE summer with your car on jack stands researching how to do this. Then I find out the maker of the engine screwed it up.
The best you can do timing this motor is one cam is ON and one is 1/2 tooth off. Then turn the motor by hand to see if you have interference issues if you do I guess your screwed; if it does I plan on suing Chrysler. When you do the T belt set the motor up on TDC with the crank, make your OWN timing marks by filing new marks on the front engine cover opposite the ONE on the pulley that is off. Now you have marks you can trust. |
