What to do about aluminum corrosion?
Our 2017 Pacifica LX (58K mi.) has some paint bubbling on the front edge of the hood. I read elsewhere that this vehicle has an aluminum hood. This is well past the corrosion warranty, and I'm not inclined to pay for a new hood. (I gather this is the dealer's preferred method of dealing with the problem.) I've done minor body work on other (steel) body parts, but have no experience with aluminum. Any suggestions on stopping the spread? (I'm not too concerned about cosmetics, as we're thinking of putting an acrylic hood protector on after whatever repair I can do.)
