99 Mountaineer Stereo setup.
I just bought a 99 Mountaineer, and it has an aftermarket stereo installed. I'd like to restore the functionality of the steering wheel and rear seat audio controls to work like the stock stereo. Is there an aftermarket stereo that will do that, and if not, where can I get a replacement stock unit to put back in?

Re: 99 Mountaineer Stereo setup.
There may be options to allow certain aftermarket decks to interface with the steering wheel controls. I don't recall the brand of interface, I want to say it's like PAC Audio. I'm sure there are a few options.
If you opt to go the route of OEM, eBay is probably your best source. You'll want to know which grade of audio system you Mountaineer has to know if you need a deck with internal amplifier or not. -Rod |

Re: 99 Mountaineer Stereo setup.
I have no idea what stock unit was in it. I don't like the option of having to use a wireless connection to use the rear controls, and the steering wheel add on is head unit specific. I'd rather go back to stock.
