Re: ws6 vs. ss vs. vette vs. cobra vs. gt vs. vr4

0-60: Probably the WS6 or SS, although I can see the '96 VR-4 taking this one.
Quarter Mile: Ditto.
Handling: Depends on the situation...I'm inclined to say the '93 Corvette will be the best in most situations.
Overall Performance: I'd take the Corvette, followed by the WS6, followed by the SS.

VR-4 - 0-60
WS6/SS - Q/M
WS6/SS - Handeling due to the upgraded suspension, followed by the nibleness of the 93 corvette.

Re: ws6 vs. ss vs. vette vs. cobra vs. gt vs. vr4

I raced an 02 WS6 vert and it was neck and neck. I'm not sure if it was an auto or stick, but I was expecting it to be faster. Perhaps the ragtop is considerably slower than the coup? Anywho, I haven't come across an F-bod I've lost to yet, but that was the only Ls1 f-bod i've raced.

You definately need to race one with a better driver. An 02' SS is rated around 5.3-5.5 0-60, and 13.4-13.7 1/4 time.. Best Boxter-S I have seen is 5.7/14.0. Just thought I would throw in that two cents.

I agree, except handling I would give to the Vette.

Motor Trend has tested an 03 boxster S that got 5.3 sec 0-60's and 13.7sec in the 1/4. The older "S"s from 00-02 have slightly less power. I don't know the source of your #'s but there are plenty of boxsters posting better times. C&D just had a comparo involving the new 05 boxster s and it posted a 5.1sec 0-60 and a 13.6sec 1/4. I think some people underestimate the boxster, especially domestic muscle car lovers. The Boxster S from my experience and from the #'s posted is formidable opponent against an Ls1 F-bod and blows away LT1's(stock for stock of course).

Man, do you do any research before posting? The 3000Gt's are some of the heaviest sports cars ever made. Your post totally contradicts itself. The VR4 3000gt's approch 4,000lbs and make the corvette feel like a feather at around 3,200lbs. They are simply overly complex with awd/aws an thus painfully heavy.

1993 Chevrolet Corvette: 3333 lbs
1993 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4: 3801 lbs

Please do some research before you post. The Corvette is one of the best handling cars in the world. The 3000GT VR-4 isn't bad at all, but physics certainly isn't on its side, and it's no Corvette.

Re: ws6 vs. ss vs. vette vs. cobra vs. gt vs. vr4

From what I hear/read the SS/WS6's do handle better then the late c4 corvettes "in stock form". They handle very well considering their weight.
Then again I havent driven a c4 vette before so I cant argue about it so please correct me if I am wrong.

also, didnt the c4 vettes weight more like 3450 to 3550lb's as apose to the 3200?

3333 was the number edmunds.com gave me. Of course, it will vary depending on exact year and options, but that's a good ballpark number.

Re: ws6 vs. ss vs. vette vs. cobra vs. gt vs. vr4

4th Gen F-body's have a solid rear axle, C4 Vettes have independent rear suspension. I have had both and handling is not a contest. The vette wins and usually weight between 3200-3400 Lbs.

0-60: WS6/SS
1/4: WS6/SS
Handling: Corvette
Overall: toss-up between Vette & F-Bodies
