Replacing the Motor..
Im about to purchase a car right now, (an '91 MR-2), and the guy says that he bought and installed a new motor on it... The old motor had whooping 210,000 miles on it... The new motor currently has 60 K's on it...
I'm gonna check it out this Friday so yeah... But what really ticking me is that new motor... Is replacing the "motor" the same thing as replacing the entire block? And if so, since the thing is pretty much "new" is it an ok buy? Thanks. |

Re: Replacing the Motor..
Chances are he replaced the entire engine.
The "block" would only be the bottom portion of the engine. There is no way on Earth someone online could tell you if it "is okay to buy." We do not know the car, the engine or what has been done.

Is it a 5s or 3s?? 5s engines are practically free these days, so no biggie... even if the thang has 300k miles, just drop another in. 3s, on the other hand is gonna cost you (on average) 1500.
