belt tensioner on 97 Mustang
I'm trying to change the serpentine belt tensioner(the whole assembly) on my daughters 3.8L 1997 Mustang and was wondering if anyone knows if that is a left handed bolt. I know the pulley on there has a left hand bolt. I tried to loosen it the way a normal bolt would come out and it creaked a couple of times , then stopped, thenI tried it the other way, no go. Any help would be greatly appreciated before I snap the bolt off. By the way, it takes a torx 55, another tool to buy.

Re: belt tensioner on 97 Mustang
How many times are you gonna ask this question? Try looking in a Haynes or Chilton's manual to see if its reverse thread or not.

Re: belt tensioner on 97 Mustang
If a bolt has left handed threads it should have an L stamped in the end. Use P-B Blaster and let it soak. If still unsure call Ford parts and ask them?
