tsr connector wire diagram?
Hi
I'm wondering if anyone has a wiring diagram for the connector on the TRS on a 2000 windstar 3.8. I have the dreaded flashing od light and have traced it back to the TRS. When I pealed the wiring harness back it looks ok. At one point the van simply wouldn't start. I sprayed some wd-40 into the connector and jiggled the harness a bit at the connector and it started. Now the starter, battery, alternator are all new, just replaced by me 3 days ago. Soooo, I'm thinking electrical or the TRS. But, I still have a po 705 code and when the gear selector is in P the od light flashes. When you move from P to D or any other gear after a minute or 2 the od stops flashing. Switch back to P and it flashes again. Really frustrating!! I don't simply want to throw parts at this (ie replace the TRS) but am almost at that point. Any pointers really appreciated! Re: tsr connector wire diagram?
What's the tsr? Did you mean Transmission range sensor? I have the diagram for the connector for the 2000 3.8 but not sure how to post the image and not sure if it would help you with your problem.

yes yes yes!
Man I've been looking at this too long! I'm sorry, I do mean the Transmission Range Sensor (TRS) Having determined yesterday that the connections seem pretty good I"m wondering about where they connect at the PCM if the connection is faulty? Piper |

Re: tsr connector wire diagram?
Here's the pinpoint test for the TRS from my manual. Since your code points to the TRS circuit problem and it seems like many people on here had the problem with the sensor, I would swap the part (about $30 i think). And here are the images of the connector and circuit http://community.webshots.com/album/561644596QuroWT
Hope this helps! PINPOINT TEST D: DIGITAL TRANSMISSION RANGE (TR) SENSOR Note: Refer to the Digital Transmission Range (TR) Sensor Connector illustration preceding these pinpoint tests. Note: Refer to the Digital Transmission Range (TR) Sensor Diagnosis Chart preceding these pinpoint tests.
