1996 Buick Century EGR Problem

I have replaced the Throttle Position Sensor, MAP Sensor, MAF Sensor, and the EGR Valve within the past week. The EGR Code (1406 I believe) keeps returning. I even had it removed at AutoZone to no avail. The car runs beautifully but will suddenly stall, without notice. Oddly enough, moving right turns cause it more than anything. I did notice some moisture at the intake where the EGR mounts but cleaned it out. I hate to quit now after the sensor investment. Suggestions?

Re: 1996 Buick Century EGR Problem

I doubt the EGR has anything to do with the stalls, if they only happen on right turns.....

Check harness connections that they are tight....

Since the EGR was replaced, you need to get a scan tool on this......read EGR position...should be 0 % at idle, or key on, engine off....can do this at a place like AutoZone....

If above zero, since it is a new EGR, there is a possibility the PCM may have to be programmed.....think there was a TSB for this....
