old eq with 8 pin Din plugs in the back?
sup guys, so i bought an oldschool technics equalizer from a crackhead for 10 bucks because it looked expensive and is in nearly new condition. problem is that the connections it has in the back are 8 pin din plugs. does anybody know if or how i can integrate this to a modern audio system? iv'e looked online like crazy, but have no luck finding anything reffering to this item.

I remember Alpine, Kenwood and Pioneer used to use them in the 80's. I didn't know technics ever made car equipment.
According to what I can find, I think Technics was part of Panasonic, try searching their website - look in the customer service section. what is the model number ? |

I actually remember when this EQ was out.... I must be getting old. I suggest going to R@dio Sh@ck and seeing if you can find a similar din plug. Beleive it or not, they sell various ones and you may get lucky. It's worked for me a time or two.

Wiring shouldn't be that difficult. Top rows will be postive bottom rows negative while a center pin will be remote turn on or constant power.
Heck, send me the EQ and I'll sort the wiring configuration out. |

Re: old eq with 8 pin Din plugs in the back?
This message is for 92 Silverado I know this is six years after your discussion about the Technics equalizer din plugs, but I have been searching for a Technics car stereo equalizer for 25 years now. I have one that I bought 30 years but it's been fried for the last 25 years and I've been trying to fix it. I can't believe you managed to find one for 10 bucks. anyhow, it sounds like you might have the Technics cyEQ 14 or maybe the EQ 10 I have the EQ 14 do you still have it.
if so I will pay.$$$ |
