1994 - 1997 Accord LX Wagon 4-cylinder Wiper/Washer Switch
My wiper switch, which is the one on the right-side of the steering column broke yesterday, so I took the shrouds off and then there are two little tiny screws that need to be taken out. Then the switch should come out so I can install a new one.
The problem is - I keep trying to get the switch to come out - it won't come out? I had to do the same job with the left-side switch, and I got that one out and replaced it. Do I just need to keep jiggling and pulling or does the Honda manual fail to list another screw? Just wondering if I need to pull up on some tab or something. The Honda Service Manual just lists those two tiny screws? Any help appreciated. Sorry, I just don't remember how hard/easy the left-side was but I remember that it was also troublesome - could there be a bolt of some type just above, in the case of the wiper switch. Please let me know if you need a pic - I'll try to get one. Thank you. Last edited by hondajoe88; 09-19-2013 at 11:52 AM. Reason: Title change |

Re: 1994 - 1997 Accord LX Wagon 4-cylinder Wiper/Washer Switch
Wow, I just went out and wiggled it a bit with all of my strength, then I pulled and very slowly it began to move and then it came out!
So you just have to pull hard on that Honda wiper switch after the two screws are out - I was worried I would break something. After all, I broke the switch to begin with! Now if only the new switch I've ordered had come in today - now I need to wait at least until Monday! For those who pondered this question, sorry if I gave you a headache! Here's the broken switch - it could be epoxied back together and made as good as new. But I've sprung for the $65.00 and bought a new one. |
