350z engine
So I have a 2004 350z roadster, VQ35DE engine I believe. Semi-Auto version with the speed shifting.
I like to use the speed shifting when I drive with it, I switch first gear at about 4k and 2nd at anywhere from 3k to 6k. Its been a well maintained car and hasn't had engine problems, what im asking is if it's terrible to be shifting at mid-high revs so often with the speed shifter thing it has haha. does the engine in the 350z like high revs like other sports cars do? It has a nice powerband in 2nd gear for sure. P.S. Damn does it ever guzzle gas hahaha. |

Re: 350z engine
With strong, solid engines (like most Japanese engines) the only thing high RPMs are bad for is your fuel economy. Keep up with your oil changes, check the oil level often, make sure your cooling system is always full and never leaking, and your engine should be fine.
