fuel sending unit 05

hi guys I have a friend that wants her fuel sending unit replaced on her 05, I'm just curious can I get just the sending unit with out the fuel pump? I've been searching and can't really find much except with me buying the whole pump. She is short on money right now so I'm trying to find the cheapest way now. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: fuel sending unit 05

I'm not aware of anyone who sells just the sending unit.

Have you confirmed the sending unit is the issue versus the instrument cluster or wiring? A professional scan tool should allow you to see what the PCM thinks the fuel level is which could help determine if the sending unit is really the issue before you drop the tank.

Re: fuel sending unit 05

rockauto.com sells the sending unit. Note that the pump and the sending unit are separate parts.

it's pricey though.

Vulcan Flex Fuel: $156
Vulcan Gas: $220
Duratec: $220
