Estimated Difficulty/Cost to Repair An Electric Door Lock In a 2008 Mitsubishi Eclipse SE?
I was hoping someone could provide me some general information on repairing the electric door locks in a 2008 Mitsubishi Eclipse SE. Any information from Average cost to average difficulty would be appreciated.
The remote locks and unlocks the car fine, but the button on the door doesn't respond. -Thanks |

Re: Estimated Difficulty/Cost to Repair An Electric Door Lock In a 2008 Mitsubishi Eclipse SE?
An estimate to repair is going to depend on what the issue is. Since the key fob works the lock fine, the issue will not be with the solenoid and there's a good chance the wiring between the cabin and door is fine all the way to the lock solenoid. Chances are pretty good the switch is the issue.
What is the cost for a new switch? Mark that up about 50%, then add an hour of labor on to that at probably $100 per hour and that will be your estimate. If the door panel does not need to be removed to replace the switch, the labor charge should be a bit less, but the shop also may want to perform some additional diagnostics would could add another half hour of labor. -Rod |
