Custom Box

If I was tryin to build a custom box in my 98 civic 2 dr ex, how would I start this process.... as in... what materials would I use and such? I've never done this before, but I thought i'd give it a try, I have 2 10's. Just wondering what people used to build custom boxes and crap.... not really goin for the plexi glass look.... but I guess I could do that too, any help would be appreciated... yes, I know i'm stupid... Also, might try to build one for my gf's 99 galant, although I got her 2 12's. Thanks to anyone that helps.

this site will help you out if you would like to fiberglass something up. that is what i am doing right now in my civic, but if you dont want the "plexiglass" look you can jsut get a normal square fat ass box

Re: Custom Box

I also have a 98 Civic EX, MDF board is really good to use instead of particle board. MDF costs more but is more durable.

Re: Custom Box

they are almost the exact same MDF stands for medium density fiberboard. I've built a few boxes in my day though and 3/4 MDF is the way to go. Oh and measure and measure again, watch for tricky peices like the rod that connects the two hinges of ur trunk they can swing down and make ur measurement smaller then u think. Oh and make sure u can fit it through the opening of ur trunk. Both of these are surprisingly easy to do, especially if u have big subs or if u are incorperating an amp rack into the design
