01 Malibu Problems W/factory Radio
Question:
Could Someone Please Help Me. I Just Purchased A 01 Malibu And It Didn't Come With A Factory Radio Guide. I Don't Know How To Program Stations, And I Sometimes Get A Message Saying What The Songs Is, Sometimes I Don't. Also, The Music Gets Lower As I Slow Down. Please Help. Thanks Marie |

Re: 01 Malibu Problems W/factory Radio
Marie,
The song title is a feature of the RDS. It is broadcasted by some radio stations, but not all. I can only assume that you must be listening to different stations that have different broadcast standards. The volume lowering is a function of the Speed Controlled Volume (SCV) that comes on all of the Delco Theftlock radios. It actually raised the volume as your speed increased to compensate for road noise. You can turn the SCV ring around the volume knob to adjust this. Clockwise increases the change, and Counter-clockwise decreases the change, and eventually turns it off altogether. This feature bugs a lot of people, and most either drive with it off or on the lowest setting. Ben. Last edited by BeatnikTermite; 08-12-2004 at 07:21 AM. |

Wait....Hang on...Pluck.
Ok, my head is out of my arse now. In 2001, the radio changed from the Delco Theftlock to the RDS one. This should have been obvious since you said it was a 2001, and since I described the RDS, but alas I am an _____ (fill in the blank). The RDS info is still ok. To adjust the SCV there is NOT a ring around the volume knob anymore. I am trying to remember exactly what is on my brothers S-10 (same radio) but I may not get this exactly right. On the right side of the radio, in the middle, there is what I think is an OPTIONS or SETTINGS button. Push that until the SCV settings show on the display. Use the UP and DOWN arrows to adjust. I think the settings are OFF, LOW, MODERATE, and HIGH. Hope this helps Last edited by BeatnikTermite; 08-12-2004 at 08:45 AM. |

Hi Guys, Thanks For All Your Help
I Didn't See A "ring" Around The Volume Knob. There Is On The Lower Right Corner Of The Radio A Button That When You Push States "avol" Low, Medium, High, Or Off. I Think That's What It Says, Or Something To That Effeft. Anyways, Please Help. Gracias!!! |

Sorry for the confusion, You've got it. I guess it's called AUTO VOLUME now.
Set it to OFF and the volume will never change, LOW will change a little, and so on. De Nada. |
