carb set up leaded to unleaded
hi, i have a 1986 1.6cl automatic and have replaced the engine (leaded) with a 1991 (unleaded,manual) unit, can someone suggest what i need to do regarding the carb set up, do i need new jets or just tuning ??

I dont see why you would have to re-jet the carb. Tune, maybe......I mean my father and I rebuilt race engines for his boat from which we used 455 olds big blocks and we've ran it on leaded and unleaded. If we have a day where we know were really gonna be giving the boat a pounding we'll use a lead addiditive (which basically makes un-leaded, leaded) and she's ran fine either or. Im also not condoning switching back and forth because this can cause damage but we rebuild the block every other year anyway. The point im trying to get at though is that a re-jet most likely wont be needed.
