Re: Cutlass leaking coolant
Where do you see coolant? I just did my moms 94 with a 3.1 it was leaking out of the intake manifold.

Did you replace the heating core yourself? The reason I'm asking is I want to determine if it is something I can do myself. Thanks. |

Yes my husband did replace it himself....and he's no car man. The coolant is leaking for the front passenger side. I looked at the overflow tank and the hose leading to the radiator and nothing?? I want to say thanks!

Thanks for the reply. I guess I will try to replace the core myself, hopefully this weekend if the weather cooperates. My coolant leak is also on the floor of the front passenger side. The overflow tank empties quite quickly, the hose to the radiator is intact and the seal is tight. Other symptoms include: no heat or very little warm air when engine is running, and the temperature gauge goes crazy within 5 minutes. Can you ask your husband what tools and materials he needed to make the repair? |

Alright, i had this problem on my 83, i know theyre different everything but it may prove a possibility. My engine was taken out and replaced and when it was put back in he took a hole out of my heater core casing and smashed my heater core. How this occured im not sure but when the coolant went into the heater core it ran all over inside the thing and apparently ran out through my lower front passenger vent. It also ran down my front firewall and steamed and blew steam out of my vents. No heat though. I replaced my heater core, and fixed the chunk that was taken out of its casing. In your case, maybe a hose is loose? But i was getting no heat because it was all blowing out the hole into my eng compartment. Just a suggestion.
