Just A few Questions
Hey i just recently bought a 88 fiero se 2.5L, replaced the crank sensor and it runs great. i have a few questions though, 1. What is a cheap exhaust system/ muffler for my car that won't make it sound stupid/loud/annoying?, 2. does anyone know where i can get a shortened shifter (manual) 5-speed? 3. I would like to get headers for it, is this a good idea or not? 4. i heard thrush glasspacks sound pretty good in place of the cat, true or false? I'm 17, and on a tight budget so if anyone has any used parts that your looking to get rid of cheap please let me know. this is my first fiero and im trying to fix it up by myself because my parents dont want me to have it and said they "arent giving me $1 for anything to do with that damn car!" lol. any help is greatly appreciated.

Re: Just A few Questions
Only way you can keep a low revving 4 cyl. engine from sounding stupid or annoying is to keep it as quiet as possible.
Had a short shifter from Rodney Dickman on my V6 Formula, and it has it's pluses and minuses. I would spend my money on the car only to maintain it and keep it looking as nice as possible. Would spend NO money to hot rod the engine. The '88s handle reasonably well and are fun to drive, but the Iron Duke engine is a dog when it comes to power. |
