Re: From wrecked to glory
I remember you saying something about it, but you should refresh my memory about what swap you actually did. Thanks and have a nice day.

What car was this done to. What motor was in it before and you put a 4g63T in it?

Re: From wrecked to glory
What? Just saying a motor and tranny swap doesn't answer the question we are all wondering... You swapped from a 420a to a 4g63t or what?

Re: From wrecked to glory
Sorry for the lack of info guys.....we mostly just did the wire harness and transmission swap. The motor in the other car was blown up it was also a 420a.Both cars where 97 Eclipses one was an auto and the other a stick.
Later on down the road he would like to turbo his 420a...but that takes money and when your in college full time and cant work.....that aint happenin.....myself on the other hand would love to get a new Lancer or find myself a Talon Tsi....but thats almost impossible it seems where I live..(for cheap) |

Re: From wrecked to glory
Why didn't you just put another 5 spd tranny in it. 420a autos suck

Re: From wrecked to glory
The other motor was blown up and my bud didnt have the money for another
tranny.....plus I dont think he wants my beat up ole 4g63.Although I am getting these thoughts about ripping my 1.8 Eclipse apart, getting a wire harness and computer and slapping the 4g63 in my car.....the previous owner of my car ran the dog crap out of it and now it smokes like hell and the valves clatter so i am constantly putting oil in it......I love the little car for the great gas mileage but it burns my pocket with buying oil and parts.....sorry that was way off topic but i didnt want the bother making another post. (Btw)would it be cheaper to just put re build kit for my 1.8 I am looking for reliability not power. |

Re: From wrecked to glory
You can rebuild a motor back stock for pretty cheap. I mean like a couple hundred bucks and it could be pretty good. Well i guess it depends on how damaged the motor is.
