Auto Repair Estimates

I would like to start a new discussion on auto repair estimates. If you are an auto estimator or you are interested in becoming an estimator, I would like to hear your thoughts on this forum post. I am in the process of writing a blog about estimating at Auto Repair Estimates and thought I would ask for suggestions for content on the blog. Any questions, concerns or comments will be appreciated.

Re: Auto Repair Estimates

Auto Parts + service ?
Need to make sure the drive train isn't damaged, because you don't want the ECU/PCU to throw a code after the body repairs.

Re: Auto Repair Estimates

When estimating you should always look for hidden damage

Re: Auto Repair Estimates

A cracked air duct work going to the throttle body can cause unmetered Air leaks.
The ECU/PCU doesn't like unmetered air leaks, thus lean codes will be thrown.
Thousands of dollars canbe thrown at troubleshooting, because of bad or poor service.

Re: Auto Repair Estimates

A smoke test can be performed to pin point any air leaks .
It might also be a good practice to pull any codes after an accident to make sure none were pending.

Re: Auto Repair Estimates

It doesn't take much to scrap an wrecked auto with to days parts + service, $500 for a rubber bumper.

Re: Auto Repair Estimates

Well ..there is an auto repair shop named Coleman Auto Restoration Systems, where my friend regularly gets his car serviced. I don't have much idea about the costs but he says they are the most affordable in the town. You can contact them to know about the charges.
