36 cylinders
I'm glad to announce yet another triple WIP - Alex, Steve, and myself decided to build the same kit and by doing this push ourselves to the extremes of modelmaking (yeah, ok) We decided to build Ferrari 166MM Barchetta - the first Ferrari to gain international racing success, first one to win 24 hours of Le Mans, and one of the most beautiful cars of its time. Here is the kit - Model Factory Hiro 166MM in 1/24 scale:

Re: 36 cylinders
Each of us will make announcements as to the version we will be building. I'm going to build the # 0064 frame with an original two tones livery, in TdF blue and Tourquoise. Me and Steven seen it recently at a show:.
Alex and Steve's announcements are to follow.

Re: 36 cylinders
Since I am a sucker for punishment I'll be trying to slightly convert the MFH stock kit into this version
Why? Because if it doesn't work out, I can just commit hara-kiri on that cheese cutter number board on the trunk EDIT: Would this be considered as a WIPle Triple??

Re: 36 cylinders
OK guys, at work! My first Hiro! I have to say that I found it harder than expected but also fun, very fun, I'm starting to love work with metal. First updates:
Engine: soldered togheter main pieces, little parts was glued (CA and 2K glue) I turned some little parts like starter and coils, all parts was cleaned with files, sandpaper and wire brush mounted on dremel:

Re: 36 cylinders
PE on camcover was solded , I choose t cut out casted bolts to clean better parts (they have yet a lot of prototyping layers marks) and to use spare dressed bolts:
Sakatsu 0.8 mm diam bolts was glued in place I know: they're a bit oversized but a lot is done by the macro effect: a lot of friends was surprised viewing by naked eye at Milan modelling show.

Re: 36 cylinders
Looking at recent Hiro threads I wanted to paint the engine: but..
..l ast saturday, a superb modeler and good friend, R40, do this great job for me: he placed my stuff in the sandblaster machine and the result... well by naked eye is umbeliveable, seem... real . Distributor heads and other stuff was brunished with gun brunisher. Hex botls mounted on clutch and gearbox: (not perfect at least)
