David, guess what I bought:)
I am going 427 stroker, with a progressive 150 shot.
Sellin' the turbo stuff, makin' it a simple N/A 500/500, going up to 650/650ish with N2O. Compression will be around 11.5, but we get 95 octane here, so it should not be that big of an issue, plus I can always pull timing. Forged rods, and pistons, cast crank. I know plenty of guys running over 700hp on the stock crank, plus I will not be spinning higher than 5800rpms, if even that. I have a built T5 coming that can handle 700 to put behind it. I like the T5 better than TKOs, they shift a lot better Whatcha think?

I haven't been on here for awhile, how come you're getting away from the turbo? Just want a different challenge?

Turbos are just too much money, and a apin to tune going blow through. N/A and N2O can make just as much power, and you can tune at the track, not to mention about half the cost., and no turbo lag
I still might build one, but I will do that on a 67 Fastback

Re: David, guess what I bought:)
Careful with that T5 Tony. The case is the weakest point. The case will start to separate, then gears loose some of their "bite" on each other, ...and kablamo!
Other than that, sounds pretty cool. What chassis will be used? I've considered throwing a 100 shot at the Cougar once I get all the kinks worked out. Let me know if theres anything I can help with along the way.

Re: David, guess what I bought:)
Good point.
Its going in the R32, if I can get everything sorted. How is the Cougar? Can you plant the power? How well does it handle for you? Mine had some issues going into corners.

Re: David, guess what I bought:)
My car used to "sway" alot going into corners, ended up being the stud that the steering arm rides on. The hole in the arm was worn way oversize. I could be driving straight and the car would decide to turn a little. So replaced the arm, much better. I still need to rebuild the p/s cylinder (leaks like crazy). I am not a huge fan of the air shocks in the rear nor the Cadillac like float the front end gets under acceleration. I think new springs/shock for the front, relocated rear shocks (coil-over style - no coil), a set of Caltracs, and some decent tires should really help. It spins like crazy at 1/2 throttle 1st-3rd and will spin in 4th.

Re: David, guess what I bought:)
I know a guy with a Lightening block that made 900rw with a D1SC.
I made 750rw with my '89 block & crank. You have a '69 block don't you Tony?
