'91 HB Performance mods
Hi Everybody,
My friend here has a 1991 DX Hatchback. He's still got everything bone stock, but he's a teenage male, which means he wants to go really really fast, hehe, don't we all? He's got the D15B2 SOHC engine in it and he is wondering if he should keep it and mod the hell out of it or do a ZC swap. Sooner or later, he's going to put a turbo in it, but that's probably later. What should he do in your opinion? If you say stock with mods, give us links to where we can find I/H/E items for cheap and any other advice is more than welcome. Oh yeah, just so you know, NOS is out of the question. He doesn't have a death wish just yet. One more thing, he has like $2k to spend on the entire car as of right now, so we're on a somewhat tight budget. Thanks for your help! -Josh and David

I would tell him to go with the ZC swap. He can get the motor itself for about $500 and either bolt up his tranny or get a Si one and also get the 89 Integra ECU. The DX motor is just way to slow with the "fake" intake manifold it has. Just tell him to save up the money and swap a ZC like i said and he will be way happier with that than the D15B2.

Get a b16 ...you have enough for it. Unless you wanna get it proffesionaly installed? If not then try to install it yourself. Look for b-series mounts on www.thepartstrader.com Find one with 400 or less...i'm sure theres plenty. You can probably find a whole b16 with ecu for 1100..i'm not sure if you can find that price in Texas? I know this one place by my house sells it for that much but then u got to look at shipping price which would be an extra 300. So far thats 1800 plus 200 for the integra axles. Try to get an extra 200 for the small things if its not a clean swap just incase if some bolts break oh and u need new hoses. So you're lookin at like 2200 or a lil bit more for the swap..IF you're gonna do it yourself Or just get a zc if anything

My Advice would be to do a ZC Swap as that is the route I wish I have gone. I have headers, catback exhaust, CAI and a few other things but still is pretty slow maybe when I install my ZEX n20 kit will make it a little better
