Puddles of Coolant Falling

Well, when it rains, it pours. I have a Blazer V6 Vortex 4.3L 4x4 116,000. Just recently replaced engine oil cooler lines when I noticed small drops of coolant, leaking from rear of engine (near firewall) down to the transmission. After the job, started the car, and floods of coolant coming down near firewall (driver side). Checked, heater core hoses, upper/lower radiator hoses, water pump, all clean. It seems like it is coming from the back of the engine. Went under the car, but I could not see a thing except fluid dripping down driver side of tranny. When replacing the oil, I also noticed droplets of condensation on oil filler cap.

Any thoughts from reading other posts, it seems it may be the manifold gasket. Thoughts? If it is the manifold gasket, how long would this job take?

Thanks for the help.

Re: Puddles of Coolant Falling

Sure sounds like a intake gasket.

Put a pressure tester on rad and watch back of intake for leakage.

Also watch the engine oil for coolant in it.
If coolant in the oil fix it fast or you will lose a engine.
Look up in the how to on replacement procedures.
Fel-pro is now making a hard rubber type of gasket that will fix it right.

Also check out the GM dexcool class action law suit.

Re: Puddles of Coolant Falling

Thank you. I am going to take a look at it tonight. I fear the worst and already drained the oil pan just as a precaution.

Thanks for the advise. I will post my updates.
