this is for a 80 firebird with a late 70's 400 going in
and i was also wondering if i could put in a late 80's standard because they have different gear ratios in the tranny cause i heard some 70's trannys had a really long first gear so you cant run high rear end gears |

i helped my friend do it to his mustang, very difficult, lots of cutting and hacking to make it fit then putting in the clutch and hooking everything up, requires a lot to knowlege and skill to do the job your wanting to do,
i would consider just powershifting with a 4spd but if u can pull it off manual rocks!

not too sure about putting a late 80's standard with a 70's car
would have to ask someone down at a transmission ship

yah cause i heard that 70's 4spds suck cause of the long first gear so i wanted a higher technology tranny to put with a more old school engine
