1977 corvette light switch killed all power.
I have a 1977 Corvette 250/automatic. i started the car today to have it run for a while. I live in up state New York and its winter. I checked all the lights to make sure they were operating correctly. checked high beams but they just stayed on. i tried to turn them off with the switch but still wouldn't turn off. It seemed switch wouldnt engage. then when I finally pulled on it one more time it killed my engine and all electrical. i tried to unhook battery and rehook it up, but i had no electrical power. I think it maybe a short in switch, but im no electrition. Does anybody have an Idea what went wrong and what I might do to fix problem.

Sounds like something shorted in the column, for sure the dimmer switch. is bad. Unless you are confident pulling the column apart and repairing a possible fusible link issue, get this to a pro.
