Check Engine light
I just noticed the check engine light is on on my 85 Corvette, first time it's been started in a while. The only thing I've done to this car lately is installation of muffler eliminators in place of the rusted out mufflers. Would that be enough to set off the check engine light? It's never come on before since I bought it years ago.

Re: Check Engine light
it shouldn't be. you can google the paper clip method to read the codes yourself or take it to a local auto parts store, most will check the codes for free

Re: Check Engine light
I've driven it a small amount since the muffler change and the light hadn't come on until yesterday. I may try the paper clip method and see what code it throws out.

Re: Check Engine light
Turned out to be temperature sensor. The car did run rather rough before the light came on. All fixed now..
