Re: Audi A4 DTM 2009 Timo Scheider
Holt's automotive matt black paint in a spraycan for most of the car and Tamiya's spraycan for the wheels and the roof.

Nice work! Missing a taillight, though!

Re: Audi A4 DTM 2009 Timo Scheider
I know,I got to buy a clear red for the rear lights and then that will be it. Maybe I should have put it in the WIP thread

Re: Audi A4 DTM 2009 Timo Scheider
Very nice job, more so after such a long 5 year break. Anything to look out for with these kits?

Re: Audi A4 DTM 2009 Timo Scheider
The whole kit was not bad. Main issues were sink marks and loads of cleaning up. I have swapped the kit wheels (awful two piece wheels with brake discs sandwiched between the two halves) for Merc DTM ones I had from my previous build (my 2yrs old son put the Merc body when I was working on it in an oven and turned on the heat- plastic+oven= plastic modern sculpture and put some mesh in place of the molded-in front grill. There were no fitment issues, however I will mention the instruction which uses colour chart with letters representing a colour. The problem was that in a couple of cases the same letter represented two different colours which left my head scratching.
All in all this was a very nice kit with lots of details and if you put some heart into it you will get great results. |
