stay running

Will not stay running when the key is in the run position. The person at rebuild the transmission change the manual lever position sensor so I had to change the cannon plug could I get the wire mix up or is the switch not adjusted right 1991 e4od 351

What model year is the Bronco?
Engine size?
Manual or Automatic transmission?
