how hard is it to rebuild a manual trans
i got a 94 camaro w/5 speed 3.4 in it, can someone walk me throught it or is there a book that i can get from the local libary i can get? plz help thanks

Why do you want to rebuild the trans? What has gone wrong?
A rebuild is pretty easy so long as you have the correct manual. You can usually get a kit with all-new gaskets and synchronizer rings. You will have to inspect all the bearings for wear and replace any that look suspect. The difficult part is actually removing the unit, and in locating unusual parts. Sometimes you may find broken gearsets, scored bearing surfaces etc, and the correct parts will have to be sourced. |
