Question 93 Maxima alarm won't turn off

My buddy needed a pickup for the day, so I swapped for his 93 Maxima. I didn't know he'd been having problems with the anti-theft system, and he never locks his car because of it. Well' I went down to the supermarket, and locked the Maxima, did my shopping, and when I unlocked the door and opened it, well, you know what happened next. The horn blows for about two minutes, but even after that stops, the starter gets nothing. This has happened to my friend before, and in the past he would only need to lock it again, then unlock it, making sure to turn the key all the way right (clockwise), but now that's not doing the trick. He doesn't care to have an alarm system, and would like me to help him disable it completely. Does anybody know what needs to be done to disable it? Any help would be sooooo apreciated!

Re: 93 Maxima alarm won't turn off

Thanks for replying; after searching the forum, I found an article which informed that opening the trunk with the key shuts off the alarm on 4th generation Maximas, and, though this one is third generation, I gave it a try and it worked! I still would like to know how to permanently disable this, if anyone out there can tell me how...
