88-91 civic, or 92-95 civic?
I need someone to give me a good reason why i shouldn't swap my 91 civic in for a 92-95 civic, or are the 92-95 civics better?

i like em, theres more parts on ebay for em too! better variety of parts you could say i guess.
im happy with my 4th gen, but i would easily go for a 95si hatch if i could. less exposure to the elements means possibly less or no rust. my 89 has been babied, but it still tries to rust in places. it really comes down to what you find though.. if the 93si hatch that i found wasnt sold, i likely wouldnt be part of this forum, lol.

Re: 88-91 civic, or 92-95 civic?
I like how the 4th gens have those vents for the side windows to defog them, wish my 5th gen had that. I'd say it has to be personal preference. If I bought another civic, it'd definently be a 4th gen Si.
I had a situation just the opposite of 89si. I was going to buy a 4th gen si with a b16a, full body kit, "type r style" wing, rims, and coilovers. But the body needed par too much work (it was a car that a body shop started working on and then stopped when the payments stopped). But I ended up holding out and found my CX. But I still come here on this forum anyways |

im definitely happy with my 4th gen. the car is like a little go-cart, its a blast to drive, it looks sweet (although a few people have told me that it looks like a minivan.... one of whom drives a precidia)
theres only a couple things i would change about the 4th gens. i wish there was power steering just for when you are maneuvering in a parking lot or something, then no ps when you're out driving. overall i cant complain. im sure you'll be happy with either car, 88-95 hatches are the best imo.

i would take a 4g because i like the look better, but i wouldn't mind driving a 5g - and they have a heck of a lot of aftermarket for em ^_^

5th gen is easier to swap K-series engines into.

I would take a 5th gen ex coupe in a heart beat. But It looks as if I'm having to stick with my hatch for another few years.

Well in no way would I trade my 4th Gen Si HB for a 92-95. Thats my baby. I personally like the 88-91 hb's and the 92-95 coupes. Not to fond of the 4g4drs or the 5th gen hbs.

I like the looks of the 4G the best, but if I ever come to the point that I have to replace my hatch, I would not go with a 5G. I think they are very cheap looking, both inside and out. I would get a 6G hatch. They have a much nicer interior and you can swap most any motor into them.If you look around you can find 96-98 hatches for almost the same price as the 5G Si.

Actually the base RSX, Civic Si, and RSX-S all have the 2.0 liter K-Series engines...it just happens that the RSX and Si have the k20a3 (160hp) and the RSX-S has the k20a2 (200hp)
