Do Pioneer Decks use same Harnesses

I was wondering, I have a pioneer 7400 in one car and a lower end Pioneer in another car, and i want to swap. Im wondering if i can just unplug the harness thats plugged into the head units and swap. is this doable?

if I remember correctly from my good old days, Pioneers use there own set up of wires, so unless the one you just got, has alot of new special functions, it should mate right up.

Pioneer uses two plugs...one is for the older systems one for the newer ones...if you have the old one here's the correct colors to match up with the new one:

OLD NEW
GREEN WHITE
GREEN/BLACK WHITE BLACK
GREEN/RED GREEN
BLACK/GREEN GREEN/BLACK
GRAY GRAY
GRAY/BLACK GRAY/BLACK
GRAY/RED PURPLE
BLACK/GRAY PURPLE/BLACK

Hope this helps....
