S-Type R Official Pics

It doesn't look like it, but the 2003 Jaguar S type is heavily revised.
Beside slight changes outside, the S type gets a brand new interior, looking more like the X type. So now all the Jaguars have pretty much the same look inside...

The Europeans get a new base engine, a 2.5L V6 good for 201HP. A little more than in the X type.

The 3.0L is pretty much the same, but the V8 is enlarged to 4.2L and should reach 300HP.

The big news is the new Supercharged V8 with 400HP and a ZF 6 speed automatic!

B But, that's not a regular car, for regular people...

The 2003 S-Type R had the following changes in addition to the heavily revised 2003 model:

- rear subframe brace for an additional 7 % more rigid chassis (2003's chassis is 10 % more rigid than the 2002 model)

- sportier seats

- 4.2 liter 390 hp supercharged V-8 with 399 lb-ft of torque (the base 2003 S-Type V-8 model has a 4.2 liter V-8 that is much-improved over the 4.0 liter V-8 in the 1997 XK8).

- different front bumper (2005 model is more differentiated than standard model)

- big Brembo brakes

- rear spoiler (2005 model is different)

- sportier suspension

and some other stuff.

Re: S-Type R Official Pics

So, I was reading online that there are actually plans to do away with the "vintage" style of the S Type. In fact, they were talking about moving away from it altogether. Anyone else have any input on this? Can someone substantiate whether or not this is accurate?

Thanks

Re: S-Type R Official Pics

Whats up, Im new to this site. I just got a 2005 S-Type R comming from a 2005 Lincoln LSE and im looking to add to it performance wise. Does anyone know of websitees that sell aftermarket performance parts for it (intake, exhaust, chip etc.)? Or any ideas on the best ways to boost the 400HP? I never worked with a Super Charger. Thanks
