96 transmission
The transmission has gone out of my 96 Lumina Sedan and I want to get a used transmission to put back into it. Are there other vehicles whose transmissions are compatable? Or am I limited to just another Lumina?

Re: 96 transmission
While the 4T60E is the platform transaxle in your vehicle, there are subtle variations of that model. Your best bet is to get a straight swap or a rebuilt, but if you're desperate, most any similar-year GM FWD 3100 will fit.
But, like I said, because of the various submodels of the 4T60E you'd probably be better off to have it done professionally or at least from another 96 3100. |
