1995 Lesabre Check Engine

code said bad tps, replaced tps, cleared code High idle about 1 min, idle dropped to normal check engine light backRan scan, said tps current error. Tested wires on tps with voltmeter
Both black and white wires read ok
Center wire read 5.0 with throttle closed and .05 open, Should read the opposite
Tried another tps, same issue
So I replaced IAC and mass air flow ( there’s no map sensor)
Reset code, back to square one,
Only thing haven’t tried is computer
Any ideas on what else might cause voltage reading on tps
Can runs ok, just don’t have cruise and overdrive
Thanks

Re: 1995 Lesabre Check Engine

Yes, that is crazy.....

Can't find a '95 diagram, so I am looking at a '96 for the TPS.....

C is 5v ref
B is signal
A is ground....

Are you taking your signal reading from a scan tool, or back probing the signal wire in the harness to the tps?

With harness disconnected and using dvm, what do you get from B to A, with ignition on?

The only way I could think of getting those readings, would be if the harness was installed upside down, but then it wouldn't insert into the TPS....

Re: 1995 Lesabre Check Engine

Lack of lockup and cruise are more likely due to a missing VSS signal, or possibly the brake pedal switch, and the not TPS. In any case:
