2008 pontiac torrent shaking
every now and then around 45 to 60 mph my torrent starts to shake and grind. as soon as u take your foot off the gas or accelerate harder the shaking stops. but if u maintain speed through it then it gets worse. one time the engine light came on and the codes related to the torque converter clutch sensor. but the light went out. it seems to start more when ur turning and acelerating. any clues?

We would need the EXACT code.....
Sure this is not a misfire? Does the CE light ever flash? |

Re: 2008 pontiac torrent shaking
theres no codes and havent been for a while. i think the tcc code i had before might have been from my front cv shaft. both were bad and after that i didnt get the code anymore. whats going on now is at 45 to 60 when ur maintaining speed it all the sudden feels like ur driving on the side of the thruway (the bumps to wake u up) and the speedometer goes back and forth. and it seems to start more when ur turning the wheel and maintaing speed. once u let off the gas or speed up it goes away

Re: 2008 pontiac torrent shaking
Well, you have to determine if this is engine or transmission related.....you would need a road test with a scan tool, like a GM Tech II, and watch misfire data and TCC data, to determine which is at fault.....was the vehicle scanned for codes?

Re: 2008 pontiac torrent shaking
right now now codes are present, when the codes were in it it was p0741. it sometimes feels like its possibly in the rear. is there a way i could disconect the driveshaft to see if it goes away?

Re: 2008 pontiac torrent shaking
to end this topic the valve body in the transmission was shot. these transmissions dont have a filter so it was gummed up. i took it down and did a rebuild. 19 hrs
