HELP NEEDED, Best Wiring options for Amp & subwoofers needed?
Hi all How you doing!
Thought I would make use of the Forum, after a long time of reading up! Basically I have: Amp : Audibahn amplifier model a2300 HCT subs: Kicker 15" L7's x2 & these are the 2 ohm dvc versions my car: e38 bmw 7 series & am Unsure How to wire these up? As I am not all up there in maths, Not sure if my Amp is 0.5ohm capable, as it not stressed in the specs! serial? parrallel? space in my boot will be an issue, shall I stick with seled boxes? Would ideally like to run them at atleast 1 ohm or if I have to 2ohm load! BUT I am unsure what to do? So please share your thoughts with me please! Thank in advance... (If I can supply you with any more info please let me know, never wanna post links of manufactures unless I had too!) |

if you wire up both of the coils on each of the sube in parallel, then both subs in parallel, you will have a .5 ohm load. Only way to tel if it will work is try it. If you get a warning light, wire the 2 subs in series. Looks like you will take a pretty good hit in power with anythinmg less than 1 ohm mono.

Even the subbs ave not been run in yet! I guess I only have 2 options: 0.5 ohm load & or 2 ohm load! is there no wiring that sets me up with a 1 ohm load? when you talk about the pretty good hit in power, Do you mean: I need to uprate my alternater, & big 3 wires? |

what I mean by hit in power is that you only get like 1/2 power at 2 ohms. There is no way to connect 2 dual 2 ohm subs to get a 1 ohm load.
