no intermittent wipers 93 aerostar

Ok here goe's:my 93 aerostar's wipers work fine,as long as they are
on high or low.
My intermittent settings don't work ,however if the setting is on an
intermittent setting and I turn a corner they will take a swipe or if I
use my turn signal they will take a swipe.
Is it possible I could be the victim of the old clockspring trick?
