Dimmer swtich don't dim and int. light prob

i have a 97 4 dr, LT. The nob on by the lights witch used to work, to dim the int lights for some reason doesn't work any more, like when i push it up. the courtesy lights come on. when i lower it past the brigest setting all my int lights just turn off. gages, A/C controls. i have no idea what would be causing this, and one have this small problem?

Also, at time while driving my int lights will turn on and the door chime will, chime, almost like a doors open even though theres not. If i acutlly kick the spot under were that door pin switch is it some times turns off. after a while i just got frustrated and pulled out that little pin. and ideas on this?

Typically when it does that the rheostat in the switch is hosed. Replace the dimmer switch. This should cure both problems.
