i need a combo auto switch? for my blinker noise
HI there!
I posted last week perhaps with this question. I have a Chevy Blazer, 98' that I took in to the shop for its inspection a few days ago...after taking my car home I noticed that my car will randomly (in park, drive and reverse) make the clicking sound that your blinker would make if it was on (but the blinker is not on) i just hear the noise. It is beyond annoying and frusterating since there was nothing wrong with it before I took it in. My blinkers do work when I turn them on and make the noise...but as I am either in park or drive the sound of my blinker will go off...and it basically goes on and off, it can stay on for about 40 seconds then stop and maybe start up again. the noise from my blinker continues on...........oh no! and i found out now from the auto place that i need a combo auto switch or a multifunctional switch to fix this problem. and the part costs $215, not including the labor! and i told them no bc that seems crazy and i dont know if that is what i really need...does anyone know what this part is and can explain what it does for the car. i would like to know also how much approximately something like this would cost on average. to me it seems like a lot but yet i dont really know. please comment and thank you!! =) Jessi |

The combo switch is the turnstalk unit that controls the turnsignals, hi/low beams, wiper speed and cruise control......
You can get this at Parts America (advance Auto) GP Sorensen LS327 Dimmer Switch; w/Tilt Steering; Combination Switch 1 Year Replacement Warranty Ships in 1 day Weight: 0.1 lbs. $154.88 GP Sorensen LS326 Dimmer Switch; w/o Tilt Steering; Combination Switch 1 Year Replacement Warranty Ships in 1 day Weight: 0.1 lbs. $219.99 Niehoff Ignition CS2821 Dimmer Switch: Exc. Cruise Control 3 Month Limited Warranty Ships in 5 days Weight: 2.2 lbs. $191.99 Niehoff Ignition CS2511 Dimmer Switch: w/ Cruise Control 3 Month Limited Warranty Ships in 5 days Weight: 2.2 lbs. $211.99 You can replace this WITHOUT pulling the steering wheel. Get a Haynes manual and do a couple of dry runs to identify tight spots during removal and installation. Then get the part and replace it. If you can find a reputable recycling yard get the part there at a substantial savings. Larry |

Re: i need a combo auto switch? for my blinker noise
you said it does it constntly. if its the switch in the collum it should only do it when you are turning the wheel and should not do it when the wheel is streight. the clicking should only occur when turning the wheel,
