4.9 Liter 6 cylinder F-Series Questions
I just got a 1978 4.9 liter 6 cylinder F-100. This is my first truck, so I have some questions. This truck has no Tach. It has a 3 speed manual tranny.
I am tempted to get a tach, so that I know what the RPMs are. I feel like 1st and 2nd gear very short. I seem to rev rather high in second, and then third seems to be bogged down. Do these 6 cylinders like to rev? Or should I be in a certain gear for a certain speed? Cmotif

motor
The 4.9's are a very low reving motor, my motor runs about 2,000 rpm while I am crusing at 70mph.
