Passenger Window Quit Working
I have a 1999 GMC Jimmy. Today I rolled my power front passenger window down and it's still there. Main Control panel on driver side won't roll it back up and passenger switch won't roll it up either. All other windows and locks work fine and I do not hear anything when trying to roll the window up. Does this automatically mean the motor just went out all of a sudden?

Re: Passenger Window Quit Working
I'll answer my own question. Turns out it was the motor. First I ordered just the motor but after trying to get the other one out I saw there was no way that I could see to replace one of the needed bolts to put on the new motor. I then called back (Oreillys) and ordered the whole motor regulator assembly. No nuts or bolts are included so I bought 4 1/4 x 20 x 1/2 bolts and nyloc nuts. Watched a youtube vid on it (those vids have saved my butt more than a few times) and went to work. Drilled out the old rivets (instead on punching chiseling out like the vid) cause I didn't want to beat on the door. Got it out and put the new one in with just a bit of fiddling and help from my son holding the window. For clearance reasons I ended up inserting the top two bolts with nuts on the back and the bottom two with nuts on the front. Worked out perfect. First time doing something like this. Well now I know how if any of the others decide to quit working.

Re: Passenger Window Quit Working
It is a very good idea to use shakeproof washers (not just typical split lock washers) and/or LocTite on the bolt threads so the fasteners do not back off. That will just have you in there again soon to correct the problem.

Re: Passenger Window Quit Working
I wouldn't think the nylock nuts are going to back out.
