Re: engine swap

NO! The engine would probably fit but there are too many other issues that you would need to deal with. You would need a new transmission, axle shafts, fuel lines and fuel pump, PCM, new wiring harness and a host of other items too numerous to mention. Your best bet would be to purchase a used GTP somewhere. It would be much cheaper.

Re: engine swap

Also, take note that you can'T just change the PCM, as it is tied to the BCM.

The ABS is also tied to the BCM, so is the cluster in some case.

The radio is also tied to the BCM...

In short, the engine need the proper PCM for it, so does the transmission. The PCM need the matched BCM, and basically all of the rest of the electronics rely on the BCM. So you would need to change ALL the electronics module. Since the wiring is non-standard, you also need to change it all, or at best hack it up badly.

Then you have all the mechanics stuff... The transmission need the proper engine, so you also need to change the transmission. The axles match the transmission. The wheel hubs match the axles, the knuckle match the hub, and so on...

There is also driveability issues that could happend even if you succede to do the swap. The body is made for a certain engine weight and power... The suspension is tuned for the weight and gravity center. The brakes matched for the car weight and also to the weight proportion on front/rear...

Sure, lots of those issues are negligeables, but the electronics and mechanicals one are worrysome.
