2000 Sienna maintenance
Folks,
My van has approx. 320,000KM/200,000MILES, I need to do some preventative maintenance somewhat soon. I know I have to replace my timing belt/water pump. Should I do my spark plugs since the engine will be opened up? What else should I get my mechanic to replace? Thanks |

Re: 2000 Sienna maintenance
I think it would depend on your maintenance schedule at to this point, for example, when was the last time you replaced the sparks plus? if you did it let's say 40k miles ago then you don't need to replace them yet. Same with other items like all the fluids, including the coolant. By the way, there is no need to remove any major engine part to replace the spark plugs even the three in the back. for the ones in the back all you need is a flexible spark plug extension socket and do it when the engine is cool, I have done this the last two times I have replace them on my Sienna 2000, which has 187k. Did at 90k and at 160K, which it might be too soon, but that's what I have done.
Hope this helps some! |
