sudden alternator whine - stock 2003 yukon

I have a stock 2003 yukon 4.8L with the factory Bose (8)speakers and amps. A few months after purchase, i heard alternator noise in the drivers side rear speaker for a few days; unpugging that speaker sent the whine to another speaker. it went away on its own and has not been a problem for years.
Suddenly, i am hearing it again, but i think its in all of the drivers side speakers now. it may have started after a very small bump in the road(dont know if it was a contributing factor). i cant find this same scenario anywhere that i search. i know its common in aftermarket equipment install when the grounds are not well placed but i have no mods.

Even the dings from starting the vehicle have it- although i think they come from the same speakers.

Has anyone ever experienced this?

No, i havent chqanged the spark plugs yet. They are still factory plugs. I have 89,000 miles on it - should i replace them? I have been thinking about how to get some better mileage/performance.

As far as the alternator whine through the speakers, whatsthe connection with the spark plugs? I'm curious.

Re: sudden alternator whine - stock 2003 yukon

its all connected. some plugs have resistors to eliminate that whine. i would change them, also the wires. they seem to break at the boots when removing them, yours having that many miles i would think they are stuck on pretty good.

u could have the alt tested to see if its putting out to much juice, but i doubt thats it. the noise u hear is prob thru the ign. could be a coil pack too.

let us know what u find out

Re: sudden alternator whine - stock 2003 yukon

It's just the factory bose amps- i cant turn them off. The vehicle is 100% stock except for the tires.

I will definitly look into the plug/coil pack issue though. If i find anything out i will def post it here.

In the mean time- if anybody else experienced this problem, please let me know what you found it to be.
